From courtyard garden, through vegetables, flowers, herbs and wildflower meadow to the amphitheatre overlooking the sea, the garden is a haven of tranquillity. With interesting planting and lots of nooks and crannies there is something for everyone. Café, Gallery and events in the amphitheatre throughout the summer. Open: Wednesday to Sunday throughout June, July and August. Friday to Sunday throughout September. Other times by arrangement.

Extending to 45 acres in total on the edge of Bantry Bay, the gardens and grounds are a wonderful mix of formal and informal. The estate also houses the 1796 French Armada Exhibition relating the story of the ill-fated French attempt, inspired by Wolfe Tone and the United Irishmen, to invade Ireland, end British rule and establish an Irish republic. Bantry House is open to the public from March to October.
